Atlantis and Civilizations Flow Chart

This chart illustrating the various  factors that feed into and then flow out of the state of Civilization was posted to my wall at Facebook a few days ago. I include it here because it occurs to me that this does define what was going on in Atlantis in the closing days of the Last Ice Age had several of the factors were mentioned specifically by Plato in his description of Atlantis (Demonstrably derived from very old Egyptian sources) The agricultural base would have derived from Northern Africa in the realm of 11000 to 15000 years ago, when indications are an old form of Neolithic was already in operation by that time (Articles were posted earlier on this blog about that and today I saw a paper by Robert Lindsay which also said the same thing)

  1. The observation is that agriculture is not at all beneficial when small numbers of people permit food sources to be sustainable. I do think that food sources for Atlantis were sustainable and consequently that they did not develop Agriculture. This opinion is based entirely on history-but of course the argument can be made that Atlantis agriculture is unknown. The opinion however that is not beneficial is found in the origins of Taoism.

  2. In that opinion you are of course directly contradicting not only Plato but the Egyptian sources that Plato was deriving from. In the Egyptian sources great emphasis is placed on the agricultural products, especially bread and beer, and the blessed place of the afterlife that corresponds to Atlantis in Egyptian mythology is an irrigated Agricultural plain. In Plato's description as well, great emphasis is placed on the partitioning of the great irrigated plain of Atlantis into districts, and the allotment of each district meant to support a section of the armed forces. And unfortunately the populace of Atlantis cannot be held to your enlightened sources if you are saying that eating grain is bad, because the type of food production tradition that derives directly from Atlantis at the end of the Ice Age is the one that relies heavily upon grains. Taoism is of course a philosophy that exists completely apart from the Atlantean tradition and has no direct historical connection at all.
